
Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari is the new Chief of Air Staff (CoAS) of India. He is 27th Chief of the Indian Air Force. The New CoAS Vivek Ram Chaudhari took over command of the Indian Air Force from Marshal RKS Bhadauria on 30 September at Indian Air Force HeadQuarters Vayu Bhawan in New Delhi.

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Chaudhari got commissioned on 29 December 1982 in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force. Prior to the new assignment, Vivek Chaudhari was Vice Chief of Indian Air Force and was also commanding western command. Marshal Sandeep Singh has taken charge as Vice Chief of IAF.

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari has flying experience of more than 3800 hours on different fighter and trainer aircrafts. An alumnus of National Defence Academy (Khadakwasla) and Defence Services Staff College (Wellington) Air Chief Marshal Vivek Chaudhari has experience of mission flown during Operation Meghdoot and Operation Safed Chadar.

As an Air Vice Marshal, Vivek Chaudhari has been Deputy Commandant of Air Force Academy, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff Operations (Air Defence) and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel Officers).
He has also held various important appointments like Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air HQs overseeing capital procurements and also as Senior Air Staff Officer at the Eastern Command of IAF.
