Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri will be the next General Officer Commanding of Western Command , of Indian Army , based in Chandimandir cantonment. He will be taking charge of the command from Lt Gen R P Singh who superannuates on October31, 2021.

Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri is the first officer from the Army Air Defence who has been elevated to the rank of Army Commander. Earlier he commanded Indian Army’s Sukna (Sikkim) based 33 Corps which is popular as Trishakti Corps. An an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College (Dehradun) and National Defence Academy ( Pune) Lt Gen Khanduri was commissioned in the Army Air Defence in December 1983.

Lt Gen Nv K Khanduri has an illustrious military career spanning 38 years in a wide spectrum of operational environment and has tenanted important Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. The General Officer has a unique distinction of commanding Air Defence and Infantry Brigades. He has vast operational experience along the borders with Pakistan and China.

The General Officer has also served in foreign assignments as a Military Observer in Cambodia and Military staff in Bhutan. He also served as Deputy Chief Integrated Support Services at the United Nations Mission in Ivory Coast. Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri was the Director General Operational Logistics and Strategic Management as well.
