Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar visited the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington and addressed the future leadership of the Indian Armed Forces attending the 79th Staff Course.

Naval Chief R Hari Kumar Chief underlined the importance of India’s maritime heritage and the country’s geography in establishing maritime distinctiveness in the Indian Ocean region. He highlighted the transformation of the Indian Navy into a combat ready, reliable, united and future ready force by implementing the principles of self-reliance.

Naval Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar had visited DSSC on 28 March. He discussed in detail some of the recent operations conducted by the Indian Navy including anti-piracy missions. He underlined the important role played by the Navy in protecting India’s trade and other maritime interests. He also stressed upon  the importance of cohesion and integration within the armed forces to achieve national military objectives.

DSSC :
Defense Services Staff College was started in 1947 and has now established a good reputation in the country and abroad. Here, officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as officers of civil services are provided training under one roof. It is unique among institutions around the world that have done so.
