Although the government order regarding the reorganization was issued in late December 2025, several aspects of it could not be implemented. This led to confusion regarding jurisdictional boundaries among the four commissionerates.
During the review meeting, the Police Commissioners presented proposals concerning the reorganization of police stations, territorial jurisdictions, administrative requirements, and other related issues. DGP Anand directed that government orders be strictly adhered to while reorganizing police station boundaries, while also taking into account the jurisdictions of municipal bodies, revenue divisions, and courts.
Emphasizing the need for planning with future requirements in mind, Mr. Anand stated that urban expansion, population growth, and changing administrative needs should be considered during this process. He also instructed officials to seek the views of all stakeholders before finalizing the new territorial boundaries.
Following a detailed discussion, the DGP resolved pending disputes and field-level issues regarding police station boundaries in certain parts of Hyderabad city and directed that the agreed-upon changes be incorporated into the final proposals. He emphasized that the jurisdictions of the new police stations should be demarcated in a manner that causes no inconvenience to the public, government departments, or the judiciary, while simultaneously ensuring smooth policing. Reiterating the objective of this process, Anand stated that the reorganization should strengthen public-centric policing, improve administrative efficiency, and enhance the delivery of police services.
The meeting was attended by Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Ramesh Reddy, and Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Sumathi, along with Joint Commissioners and other senior police officials.
