Brave IAF personnel evacuated 55 people stranded in floods in Shivpuri district

Indian Air Force Personnel have managed to evacuate 55 people stranded in floods in Madhya Pradesh. The Central Air Command of IAF received a request from the district administration of Shivpuri district in Madhya Pradesh stating that they were unable to evacuate people stranded due to floods in Karovah Tehsil in Shivpuri district. Officials from the Central Air Command swung into action to rescue stranded people. A Mi 17 helicopter was pressed into service from Gwalior Airforce station for rescue operation. officials received information from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district in which help was sought by the local administration which failed to rescue the stranded people.

The Mi17 helicopter carrying IAF personnel started searching for stranded people in the area and it found some people shouting for help on the terrace of a house. According to IAF spokesman, a total of 55 people were evacuated from the area and taken to safe area. The rescue operation was not as simple as it sounded. But trained IAF personnel were extremely careful in rescue operation.
