Police in Pixels: an exhibition with theme SMART Police

Clicked by Vinu Wilson’s camera , a photograph of a marching contingent led by a women officer , won the photography contest organised by Delhi Police titled ‘Police in Pixels’.  Photographs by  Sourav Karmakar and Sumit Kumar respectively were declared second and third in the professional category. Likhit , a young student , won the first prize in the beginners category .

A photo exhibition was organised at Delhi Police Headquarters, displaying shortlisted photographs received through the photography contest organised by Delhi Police. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and renowned photographer & Padma Shri Awardee Naresh Bedi as well as Special Commissioner Sanjay Singh were present along with other officers on this occasion.

Delhi Police had organised a photography contest titled ‘Police in Pixels’ this year, for two categories of photographers i.e Professional category and Beginner category. Participants were asked to submit photographs of Delhi Police clicked by them, reflecting various facets of the policing, with the theme ‘SMART’ Police.

Explaining the process, the police said that the entries thus received were segregated, the seamless and fair judging process was ensured and the entries in both categories were evaluated anonymously by Padam Shree  Naresh Bedi.

According to a press release ,  during the exhibition the top three winners of professional categories namely Vinu Wilson, Sourav Karmakar and  Sumit Kumar respectively and the winners of beginner category  Likhit,  Amit Yadav and Suhail Ahmed respectively were felicitated by the Commissioner of Police Delhi.

Winner of the contest Vinu Wilson is a Head Constable serving with  Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Vinu started photography as a hobby in 2015 and is now covering the official events of the CRPF. Coincidentally Likhit , the winner in beginners category, is the son of a police personnel who works as a driver.
