Jharkhand officers rushing central deputation, 26 IPS currently posted outside State

Two more Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the Jharkhand cadre  are set to proceed on central deputation. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has given the green signal in this regard, and the process to relieve both officers from their duties in Jharkhand is currently underway. The two officers are A. Vijayalakshmi and Chandan Kumar Jha.  Total number of IPS officers from the Jharkhand cadre serving on central deputation across various forces will be now 28.

A. Vijayalakshmi, a 2006-batch officer of the Jharkhand cadre of the Indian Police Service, has received approval for her appointment as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). She currently holds the post of IG (Training) within the Jharkhand Police.

Chandan Kumar Jha, currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of CID in the Jharkhand Police, has received approval for his appointment as DIG in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Chandan Kumar Jha is a 2011-batch IPS officer. Both officers will proceed on central deputation following the issuance of their relieving orders by the Jharkhand government.

Several officers on deputation:
Surendra Kumar Jha, an IPS officer from the Jharkhand cadre, recently proceeded to join the Border Security Force (BSF) as a DIG. He previously served as the DIG (Personnel) with the Jharkhand Police. His deployment on deputation took place just last month. The State Government relieved him from his duties in accordance with a communication received from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Including him, a total of 26 IPS officers are currently serving on central deputation. With two more IPS officers proceeding on central deputation, this figure will now rise to 28.


Preparations for come back:

Incidentally, the return of several officers currently serving on central deputation is also expected shortly. This list, too, includes several IPS officers from the Jharkhand cadre. The names of Inspector General Ashish Batra and Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Jaya Roy, both currently posted with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), as well as SP Anoop T. Mathew (CBI), Director Rakesh Bansal (Cabinet Secretariat), and others feature in the list of officers slated for return.
