Delhi Police Chief S.N. Shrivastava inspected the police deployment and greeted the officers and police personnel deployed in the field in view of Holi festival across the city yesterday. Sh. Shrivastava extended greetings and exchanged pleasantries to motivate and boost up their morale.
One of the senior most IPS officer of AGMUT cadre of 1985 batch, S N Shrivastava is a Special Commissioner but also have taken additional charge of police commissioner recently after the retirement of Amulaya Patnaik during riots.
IPS S N Shrivastava also met Police Mitras and Members of the Aman Committee in North-East district and extended Holi greetings appreciating their efforts in establishing peace with coordination of police during violence and riots.
According to a press release, more than 170 traffic pickets including 131 integrated checking pickets involving Traffic Police, District Police and PCR staff were put up to check unruly and dangerous driving. Apart from this, a large number of woman staff was also deployed in and around North and South campus area to add to the confidence in women vehicle drivers.
Traffic police prosecuted heavily and took action aginst erring drivers. Total challan against drunken driving is 647; triple riding 181, without helmet 1192, dangerous driving 156 during Holi.
There was strong and visible presence of Delhi Police on Holi on the streets of Delhi. It was celebrated much peacefully as compared to last year. The calls to PCR drastically reduced to 8667 as it was 18798 last year.
