
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Jaipur-based South Western Command. He succeeded Lieutenant General BS Raju, who superannuated on Tuesday.
General officer, after assuming the charge , on wednesday , paid the tribute to bravehearts at Prernashtal at Jaipur Military station. He reviewed the impressive Guard of Honour.
Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth is son of a retired three-star general and he has commanded the armoured regiment Skinner’s Horse, an armoured brigade, a counter-insurgency force in Jammu and Kashmir, and a strike corps on the western front in his military career, said the army in a statement.
The South Western command is the Indian Army’s youngest command and comprised of approxmately 130,000 soldiers. Indian Army’s South Western command is responsible for guarding India’s border with Pakistan in Rajasthan as well as in the state of Punjab.
Dhiraj Seth is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
