As many as 152 police officers in India have been conferred with the ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for the year 2021. These medals are conferred for their high professional standards of investigation of crime cases .

The Union Home Ministry, in a statement, said that the awardees include 28 women police officials from across the country.

‘ Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation ‘ was constituted in 2018 with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognise such excellence in investigation by investigating officers.

Among the personnel receiving these awards, 15 belongs to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) , 11 officers each from Madhya Pradesh Police and Maharashtra Police, 10 officers from Uttar Pradesh Police , 9 from Kerala Police and Rajasthan Police , 8 from Tamil Nadu Police, 7 from Bihar Police , 6 each from Gujarat Police , Karnataka Police and Delhi Police.

Names of Five police officers from Telangana Police have been announced for the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation. Whereas 4 officers each from Assam Police , Haryana Police , Odisha Police and West Bengal Police while the remaining are from the other states and Union Territories, as per the statement issued by the Home Ministry.
