CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby said that a judicial inquiry committee should be immediately constituted under the supervision of the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court to bring the truth behind Anurag Dhankhar’s untimely death to light.
M.A. Baby posted on the social media platform ‘X’ that under Dhankhar’s strong leadership , over the past few months, drugs and other illicit goods worth crores of rupees had been seized in the state. Numerous drug traffickers and anti-social elements were arrested, and half a dozen corrupt police and civil officials had to be suspended.
Communist leader Baby remarked that IPS Anurag Dhankhar was making every effort to uphold the rule of law in Tripura—something that had virtually collapsed during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) rule over the last eight and a half years.
His post read, “It is shocking that Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankhar was found dead in his office yesterday. Had this happened in any other state, the BJP would have created an uproar, and the media would have raised a hue and cry about the total collapse of law and order; yet, because this is a BJP-ruled state, there is complete silence.”
