In an important administrative reshuffle involving Indian Police Service officers of AGMUT cadre, the Centre has assigned new responsibilities to three senior police officers, including the appointment of a new Director General of Police (DGP) for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The reshuffle includes the transfer and posting of officers across Ladakh, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh as part of routine cadre management within the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.
Anand Jain appointed DGP of Ladakh :
Senior IPS officer Anand Jain has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Ladakh which is one of the bordering Union Territory of India.
A 1999-batch IPS of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre , Anand Jain has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir, where he was posted as Additional Director General ( Armed Police).
As the head of the Ladakh Police, Jain will be responsible for overseeing law and order, internal security, crime prevention and overall policing administration in the strategically important Himalayan region.
Mandeep Singh Randhawa sent to Mizoram :
IPS officer Mandeep Singh Randhawa has been posted to Mizoram after being repatriated to the AGMUT cadre.
Mandeep Singh Randhawa, a 2006-batch IPS officer, will now take up his new assignment in the northeastern state, where he is expected to contribute to policing and administrative functions under the state government and cadre management framework.
Aslam Khan transferred to Arunachal Pradesh:
Another AGMUT cadre officer, Ms. Aslam Khan, has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh.
A 2007 batch IPS officer Aslam Khan , posted as Joint Commissioner (Vigilance) with Delhi Police , will now serve in Arunachal Pradesh, one of the key northeastern states that too shares international borders.
