Major Shashi Mehta starts ultra run from Jhansi to Delhi, will attempt World Record

Nari Shakti Vandan Run flagged off by Veer Naari Rashpal Kaur and Santosh Kumari in Jhansi , Uttar Pradesh .
Indian Army’s Major Shashi Mehta  has started Ultra race ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Run’  from the historical Rani Lakshmi Bai Fort of Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.  She will complete the distance of 470 kilometers to reach Capital Delhi. This ultra marathon race is dedicated to women power  Interestingly,  Major Shashi Mehta will also try to set a world record of running 80 kilometers daily during the Ultra Run.

Major Shashi Mehta is posted in the National Cadet Corps Directorate of Uttarakhand. The run was flagged off today (17 January 2024) by VEER NARI Rashpal Kaur and Santosh Kumari. Major General MK Mathur, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 31 Armored Division was especially present on the occasion. Major Shashi Mehta will reach Delhi on January 28 via Agra and Mathura.

‘Nari Shakti Vandan Run’ has been organized on the occasion of the 76th raising day of NCC. Groups of local NCC cadets, on the route ,  are also joining  her in the race. Same  will continue till the conclusion of the race on January 28.

NCC cadets are also joining Major Shashi Mehta during ultra run .

Major Shashi Mehta competes in long distance races and has also participated in 24-hour race competitions. An inspiring runner and a motivational  speaker  Major Shashi Mehta has participated in various running events in other countries.
