Indian Army Chief  General Dhiraj Seth felicitated  Neeru Dhanda on her historic achievement of becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual Gold Medal in the Women’s Trap event at the International Shooting Sport Federation Shotgun World Cup. The competition was held between 3 to 13 July in Lonato, Italy. Neeru is Naib Subedar in the Army Marksmanship Unit.

The Chief of Army Staff Gen. Seth lauded Naib Subedar Neeru Dhanda’s exceptional skill, unwavering determination and sporting excellence in scripting a landmark achievement for the IndianArmy and the Nation. The Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda finished with 27 hits to secure her maiden ISSF World Cup gold medal, holding off a strong challenge from France’s Carole Cormenier, while Italy’s Erica Sessa delighted the home crowd by taking the bronze medal.

Neeru established herself among the front-runners from the opening stages of the final and remained remarkably consistent throughout the 30-target contest. Entering the decisive phase with a narrow advantage, she maintained her composure to finish on 27, sealing an impressive victory in one of the strongest fields of the season.
