
The Central Reserve Police Force celebrated Foundation Day with full enthusiasm at its Group Center in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. The group centre witnessed a spectacular parade and cultural programs, filled with the spirit of patriotism and unity in diversity of India , on this occasion yesterday. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah was the chief guest on the occasion.
Although CRPF came into existence as Crown Representative Police on 27 July 1939 during the British rule in India, the present form of CRPF was established through a resolution passed in the Indian Parliament on 28 December 1949. CRPF now comes under the Home Ministry of the Central Government. It is now India’s largest central armed police force with a strength of more than 3 lakh personnel and its annual budget is more than Rs 35 lakh crore.

The CRPF celebrated its 86th Foundation Day as CRPF day yesterday at Neemuch Group Center. As per calendar and traditions , this Foundation Day parade was supposed to be held in 2024.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inspected the 86th Foundation Day Parade of CRPF as the chief guest and took the salute. While praising the CRPF , for its excellent work in different fields and history full of bravery, Shri Shah mentioned the government’s resolution to end Naxal violence by 31 March 2026. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, CRPF Director General GP Singh and senior officers were present on the occasion.
Cultural programs organized in the evening at the Group Center were full of entertainment and also presented a glimpse of mini India. The artists enthralled the audience with folk songs and dances of Assam, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Punjab.
CRPF chief IPS officer GP Singh felicitated the personnel with Gallantry awards Kirti Chakra , Shaurya Chakra and Arjuna Award for sports.
