SSB players bringing laurels to India in International championships

Newly appointed Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), IPS Surjeet Singh Deswal lauded and appreciated the performance of SSB players during various International Sports competitions. These players participated in Handball, Sepak Takraw and Wushu.

Handball :

AAA of Sashastra Seema Bal were instrumental in bagging Silver medal in an international competition of Handball. These three Handball players of Sashastra Seema Bal ‘s Men central team viz Ankit Srivastava, Akshay Choudhary and Adityanath Yadav participated in the competition with team India and brought laurels to the country by winning the silver Medal in 27th Independence Cup Handball Championship, which concluded yesterday (Sep 30, 2018) at Taskent, Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan team won Gold whereas Afghanistan was the second runner up with Bronze.

Sepak Takraw :

Six Men and five Women Sepak Takraw Players of Sashastra Seema Bal represented India in 38th Sepak Takraw King’s Cup held from 21st Sept to 30th Oct 2018 at Thailand. In Men’s double event, India Defeated China, Japan and Korea to reach the Finals. India lost to Laos in the Finals and stood as Runners up in Men’s double event.

Wushu :

In another event SSB’s Wushu player Naokhomba won a Silver Medal representing India in 3rd World Taijiquan Wushu Championship 2018 held at Burgas, Bulgaria.
