Sundari Nanda becomes first woman Police chief of Pudducherry, Beniwal, Pathak take over as DGPs in Chandigarh, Andaman respectively

New Delhi: The Central government has ordered for the transfer of Director Generals of Police of union territories of Chandigarh, Pudducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All of them have been transferred back to Delhi while they will be replaced by three senior police officers from Delhi.
Sunil Kumar Gautam, who was posted in Puducherry, has been transferred to Delhi. S Sundari Nada, a 1988-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Puducherry. With this, Nada becomes first woman DGP of Puducherry where Lt Governor is, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi .
Nuzhat Hasan, who was serving as DGP in Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been transferred to Delhi whereas Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and chief spokesperson of the Delhi Police Dependra Pathak will join his duty in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Chandigarh DGP Tejendra Singh Luthra has been transferred to Delhi and is succeeded by Sanjay Baniwal, (special commissioner of police, women safety, airport modernisation, metro and railways. Sanjay Bainiwal is a 1989-batch IPS officer.
