During a major reshuffle within the police administration across nine districts of Maharashtra, several senior officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) have been transferred. This move is expected to bring about significant administrative changes in key districts such as Satara, Sangli, Gadchiroli, Kolhapur, and Jalgaon.

According to these orders, Tushar Doshi has been transferred from Satara district to Sangli to serve as the Superintendent of Police (SP), while Nikhil Pingale has been appointed as the SP of Satara in his place.

Prior to that , Pingale held the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Pune. Sandeep Ghuge has been transferred from Sangli to Mumbai, where he will serve as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security) within the State Intelligence Department.

Tushar Doshi recently made headlines during the Satara Zilla Parishad elections, following which the Shiv Sena demanded his suspension. However, the Chief Minister had instead sent him on compulsory leave. Now, through this latest order, his transfer has been formally finalized.

Among other significant changes in the police administration, Yogesh Gupta has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for the Gadchiroli Range (with additional charge), moving from Kolhapur. Meanwhile, Nilotpal has been transferred from Gadchiroli to Kolhapur to serve as the SP. M. Ramesh has been promoted and posted as the SP of Gadchiroli.

The government stated that this reshuffle has been carried out to strengthen law and order across the entire state. The government has also directed the Director General of Police to take further necessary action. This order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and has been made available on the official website.
