Ladakh Police organised Shaheed Zulfikar Ali cricket tournament

Friends Club of Drass defeated the Dardic Legend Shimsha in the final match of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali T-20 Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament. The match of Subdivision Drass was played between Friends Drass and Dardic Legend Shimsha on Sunday. Friends Drass won the match by 51 runs.

Friends Club of Drass defeated the Dardic Legend Shimsha in the final match of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali T-20 Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament. The match of Subdivision Drass was played between Friends Drass and Dardic Legend Shimsha on Sunday. Friends Drass won the match by 51 runs.

Reyaz Naqvi, Captain of Friends Club Drass, won the toss and preferred to bat first, which worked in their favour. Friends Drass managed to score 183 after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Openers Gulzar Ahmad and Gh Hussain managed quickfire 42 each.

Meanwhile , Mustafa and Muzaffar of Dardic Shimsha managed to get 2 wickets each. Chasing a huge total Dardic Shimsha could score only 132 losing and that too at the lose of all wickets in 18.4 overs. Youngest player of the team 16-year-old Ibrahim scored a remarkable 49 runs.

Gulzar Ahmad of Friends Drass was declared ‘Man of the Match ‘for scoring 42 runs and taking 3 wickets. Gulzar was also named man of the series for scoring 2 fifties in the tournament.

Executive Councillor of LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Noor Mohammad BDC Chairperson Drass was guest of honour.

Deputy Superintendent of Police ( Headquarter, Kargil ) Manzoor Ahmad was the special guest. SHO of Drass Inspector Fazil Abbas and other police and civil administration Officers, Sarpanches, Panches, respectable citizens, senior players and huge spectators attended the event. Premium cricket kits to all participating teams, trophies, cash prizes were also distributed.
