Security forces rescued an abducted cop Sartaj and killed two terrorist during an encounter in Kashmir yesterday evening. A cop was also injured during the exchange of gunfire. Police suspects that both the terrorists belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen, a banned outfit.
Sartaj , a constable with Jammu Kashmir Police was abducted from his residence in Shirpora village in Baramulla yesterday evening. According to police the operation was launched as soon as they received information about the abduction of a cop as this was very sensitive as well as second incident of similar kind. A day before police managed to rescue an abducted cop in Shopian district.
Revealing the detail about yesterday’s abduction, police said that family of abducted cop informed about the incident. Area was cordoned off and during that time a white car was noticed at Yaripora nakka in Kulgam. Men inside the car started firing and during the exchange of gunfire both were killed. Abducted cop Sartaj was safe and security froces managed to rescue him during firing which lasted for ten minutes.
Kashmir Zone police , at 9.30 pm, took to twitter to declare about the encounter.
Despite the COVID19 crisis and holy month of Ramadan , kashmir seems to have no respite from terrorism related incidents.Police has advised to the cop to keep low profile especially in South Kashmir. During the snow melting , infiltration bids are going up in the area.
