Deputy Chief in Integrated Defence Staff , Lieutenant General Madhuri Rajeev Kanitkar has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of Universities in State Bhagat Singh Koshiyari made this appointed yesterday.
Sixty years old Lt. Gen Madhuri Kanitkar is a highly experienced doctor and a teacher. Born on October 1960 Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar obtained her MBBS degree from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and she was a topper student in University. She did MD in Pediatrics and also obtained DNB pediatrics.
Interestingly she became Dean of the same medical college during her career in Indian Army. Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar was Dean of AFMS from January 2017 to May 2019. She has 22 years of experience in teaching and research.
According to a press release, Dr Kanitkar who is serving as Lt. Gen. in Indian Army has been appointed Vice Chancellor of MHUS for the term of 5 years or till she attains the age of 65 years, whichever is early.
