India’s Foreign Ministry ‘rejected with contempt’ the statement of the Pakistan Army which blamed India for the suicide attack in Waziristan. Sixteen soldiers were killed and few others injured In this attack which was carried out on June 28.
The Indian Ministry , in a statement issued on Sunday said , “We have seen an official statement of the Pakistan Army in which India has been blamed for the attack in Waziristan on June 28. We reject this statement with complete contempt.”
News agency AP, based on information provided by a police officer, has disclosed few points of the report which suggests that about 800 kg (1,760 pounds) of explosives were used to carried out for the attack.
The suicide bomber drove a vehicle filled with explosives into the army convoy and blew himself along with the vehicle.
Pakistan Taliban has taken responsibility for the Waziristan attack. Some nearby houses were also damaged in the attack. Some civilians present there were injured due to this, including some children.
The modus operandi adopted by the terrorists to attack the Pakistani army convoy in Waziristan is almost similar to the one used in the incident carried out in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on 14 February 2019. 40 Central Reserve Police personnel lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.
